Aquatic feed is a product that provides nutrients and beneficial components for the development of aquatic animals, including compound feed, supplements, live feed, and raw materials.
Biological products, microorganisms, chemicals, and environmental treatment agents in aquaculture (hereinafter referred to as aquaculture environment treatment products) are products used to adjust the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the environment in a way that is beneficial for aquaculture.
According to the Law on Fisheries 2017 and Circular 26/2018/TT-BNNPTNT on the Management of Aquatic Species, Aquatic Feed, and Aquaculture Environment Treatment Products, before circulating aquatic feed and aquaculture environment treatment products on the market, the production or import facility must submit information to the Directorate of Fisheries.
After submitting complete information according to the regulations of Circular 26/2018/TT-BNNPTNT, the Directorate of Fisheries will issue a reception code for the facility to be printed on the product label and allow the product to circulate on the market.

1. Registration dossier for aquatic feed allowed to circulate in Vietnam
1.1. For domestically produced aquatic feed:
- Declaration of aquatic feed/aquaculture environmental treatment product before circulation on the market;
- Declaration of company standard;
- Declaration of conformity;
- Printed color product label;
- Certificate of facility meeting the conditions for producing aquatic feed.
- Quality testing results at a laboratory with ISO 17025 certification or a laboratory designated by the Directorate of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
1.2. For imported aquatic feed:
- Declaration of aquatic feed/aquaculture environmental treatment product before circulation on the market;
- Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) or equivalent document of imported aquatic feed issued by the competent authority of the exporting country as prescribed;
- A copy of one of the ISO, GMP, HACCP or equivalent certificates of the manufacturing facility;
- Product information provided by the manufacturer including: List of ingredients, quality indicators, safety indicators, uses, instructions for use;
- Declaration of company standard;
- Quality testing results at a laboratory with ISO 17025 certification or a laboratory designated by the Directorate of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
- Product label sample (with confirmation from supplier or importer);
Note:
The dossier is the original or a certified copy with a Vietnamese translation certified by the organization or individual registering for import. If the original is not in English, the Vietnamese translation must be translated and certified.
